Cord blood banking is a very important part of protecting your child.  If you have the funds to do it, there are so many benefits to having your child’s umbilical cord blood banked.  As simple as the fact that there are many diseases, infections and conditions that can be reversed…healed…cured when medications are not able is enough reason to consider banking it.  While it may not be something that is likely to happen to your child, it may and that is when it will pay off ultimately.

The future of cord blood banking is even brighter.  The fact is that today there are over 75 conditions that can be treated with cord blood.  There are likely to be many more conditions that are benefited from this in the future.  There are many, many in experimental trials right now even.  Yet another benefit of the future of cord blood banking is that it is likely that the process of cryogenics will be able to continue keeping the stem cells alive and potentially beneficial for many years to come.  In fact, it is believed that when some of the children of today get older and find themselves facing conditions like cancer that they will be able to still use their cord blood to repair the damage.

The question then is can you afford not to consider cord blood banking for your child’s future?  The fact is that not only can your child benefit, but so can you, your spouse and your other children.  The cost of banking the baby’s blood may seem like a lot but the fact that your child may be on a waiting list or searching through donor’s lists in order to save his life is a worse condition to be in.  Therefore, if you are pregnant, you should consider what the future of cord blood banking can offer to you and to your baby.
