t's a great idea to pack your labor bag about 3 or 4 weeks before your due date. That way, you'll be prepared, and you won't feel rushed when it's time for you to go to the hospital. Here are a few items that you'll want to have with you at the hospital. What You Might Want During Labor: An item to use as a focal point Lip balm Lollipops or fruit drops Books/magazines Breath spray/mouthwash Heavy socks Glasses (if you have them...you can't wear contacts during labor) Camera or video camera with charged batteries Snacks A precise watch CD player or radio so you can listen to your favorite music Your personal telephone book - you'll want to give everyone a call! A long distance calling card if you have family that are far away Massage Oil Extra Pillow Water Spray What You'll Need For After Pajamas, or large T-shirts (ones that have front buttons, to make it easier to breastfeed) Dressing gown or robe Comfortable underwear/bras Breast Pads Sanitary Napkins A change of clothes for when you leave the hospital (loose fitting is best) General toiletries - maybe including some makeup? (lots of pictures with family and friends!) What You'll Need For Your Baby Clothes for bringing your baby home (including hat and outer clothes if it's cold outside) Baby Blankets Diapers (your hospital may supply them, but it's good to bring them just in case) Car Seat in your car |
